The Association of Korean Geographers(hereinafter referred to as ‘the Association’) was launched in 2011 and celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2021. Therefore, in order to use the upcoming 10 years as an opportunity for the leap forward of the Association, the progress of the Association's 10 years of establishment was outlined and the tasks of the Association were sought. The progress of the Association's 10 years of establishment was outlined focusing on the establishment process of the Association, the details of past executives, the trend of the number of members, and the achievements of academic activities. In addition, the tasks of the Association were sought in terms of academic activities and community service. As a result, the Association has succeeded in establishing its foundation as a comprehensive geographic association despite many difficulties over the past decade, and based on this, it is considered to have carried out its original academic activities and social services relatively successfully. We hope that the Association will grow significantly in the new decade as a comprehensive geographic association representing Republic of Korea.
한국지리학회(이하, '학회'로 칭함)가 2011년에 출범하여 2021년에 창립 10주년을 맞이하였다. 이에, 다가올 새로운 10년을 학회의 도약적 발전의 계기로 삼기 위해서 학회 창립 10년의 경과를 개관하고, 학회의 과제를 모색했다. 학회 창립 10년의 경과는 학회의 창립 과정, 역대 임원의 내역, 회원수의 추이, 학술활동의 성과 등을 중심으로 개관했다. 또한, 학회의 과제는 학술활동, 사회봉사 등의 측면에서 모색했다. 그 결과, 학회는 지난 10년간 많은 어려움 속에서도 종합지리학회로서의 기반을 갖추는데 성공했고, 이를 바탕으로 하여 본연의 학술활동과 사회봉사를 비교적 성공적으로 수행해 온 것으로 간주된다. 학회가 새로운 10년에는 한국을 대표하는 종합지리학회로 크게 성장하기를 기원한다.
